Description

The Other Clinic is partnering with Agora Colearning to present a parent information session on 'Exploring the link between Well-being and Self Regulation.' The session will delve into how children can respond to stress and how it is an ongoing process of understanding emotions, thoughts, and behaviour in ourselves and others.

Join us for a transformative learning experience that empowers both you and your child.

The session will be conducted by the lead occupational therapist, Kasey Edmonds. Kasey will be sharing information on various aspects related to the importance of Self-regulation, including:

  • Understanding self-regulation
  • Self-regulation development at the primary levels
  • Steps for fostering self-regulation
  • Activities and routines for supporting self-regulation.
  • Covid’s impact on self-regulation

Kasey has gained professional experience in leadership and occupational therapy in Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Among her many professional accomplishments are her roles as clinical director of a child development centre and establishing and leading multiple occupational therapy departments. Kasey is frequently invited to speak at parent information sessions and professional development training for educators on various subjects, including self-regulation and child development.

Additionally, she has written blog posts and created infographics on multiple topics related to child development and neurodiversity.

Kasey graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) degree in 2006. Her passion for enhancing the healthcare experiences of her clients led her to pursue an M.B.A. She has also obtained certifications in sensory integration, DIR Floortime, adult sensory coaching, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and self-regulation through post-graduate training.

As an occupational therapist, Kasey primarily utilises self-regulation theory in her work due to its transformative power on well-being.
