Danspirations - Ballet Level 1

Course Overview:

This beginner-level ballet class introduces children to classical technique in a fun, supportive setting. Dancers learn basic positions, posture, and musicality while continuing to build confidence and creativity. It’s a joyful progression from Pre-Ballet and sets the stage for optional RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) graded exams later on.

Course Content:

Students learn key ballet vocabulary and technique, including pliés, tendus, relevés, port de bras, and basic allegro (jumps). Classes follow a structured ballet class format with barre work, centre practice, and travelling steps. Emphasis is placed on correct posture, turnout, and foot articulation. Children begin to understand musical phrasing and tempo through exercises set to classical and engaging music. Short routines and creative combinations allow dancers to apply their skills in performance-based settings. The curriculum prepares students for potential participation in RAD ballet exams while keeping learning joyful and imaginative.

Teaching Methods:

We blend formal ballet instruction with creative tasks and encouraging feedback. Movement is taught progressively with visuals and verbal cues. Lessons are designed to build confidence and enjoyment while introducing classical ballet technique.

Prerequisites:

No prior experience needed — just a love for movement, music, and having fun!

Assessment Methods:

It is a fun-based learning technique class, all while receiving friendly, encouraging feedback from their teachers to help them grow and sparkle!

We always encourage the children to get the exciting chance to shine in our year-end performance. When the children are ready, the instructors will invite them to join the performing class!

Required Material:

Ballet attire: Class uniform and ballet shoes

Important Notes:

• This is a drop-off class where kids get to enjoy their dance time independently, while parents can relax knowing they’re in a safe and happy environment!
• Please note that the child will need to purchase a set of ballet attire, when they enrol. One set of ballet attire cost: $65

Trial Option:
