Danspirations - Performance Team

Course Overview:

For dancers who love the stage! Our Performance Team offers exciting opportunities to train at a higher level, perform at events, and grow in teamwork and stage presence. This program is ideal for students who are passionate about dance and want more stage experience beyond weekly classes.

Course Content:

Performance Team members train in choreography and stage presence, refining their technique across multiple dance styles. Dancers learn extended routines that are polished over weeks, with focus on musicality, transitions, facial expressions, and storytelling. Sessions include technique drills, across-the-floor combinations, and performance preparation, including staging and formations. Students also develop valuable skills in teamwork, adaptability, and discipline as they rehearse and perform together. The curriculum changes each term to prepare for new shows or events, ensuring dancers are constantly challenged and growing.

• Learn and memorise performance-ready choreography
• Work as part of a team with timing and spatial awareness Develop stage presence and expressive movement
• Improve technique, stamina, and performance confidence
• Experience performing in front of live audiences

Teaching Methods:

We use repetition, video feedback, peer review, and performance rehearsals to build stage readiness. Dancers are coached in expression, musicality, and ensemble performance, with supportive feedback to encourage growth.

Prerequisites:

Dancers should have at least 2 years of experience in dance or gymnastics and be ready to commit to 2 classes per week — one technique class (like ballet or jazz) and one performance team session. Entry is by invitation or trial assessment to ensure readiness for the pace and commitment of team training.

Assessment Methods:

Teachers provide ongoing, encouraging feedback throughout the year to help each Performance Team member grow and thrive. Team dancers enjoy exciting opportunities to perform at community events, showcases, recitals, and more — keeping their skills sharp and passion alive all year round.

Required Material:

Class uniform, performance costumes and dance shoes

Important Notes:

• This is a drop-off class where kids get to enjoy their dance time independently, while parents can relax knowing they’re in a safe and happy environment!
• For performances, a separate performance costume will be required. This costume will be selected by the instructor, and parents/students will need to purchase it directly.
• This class is by invitation only

Trial Option:

A paid trial ($28) is available for first-time student
