Danspirations - Pre-Ballet

Course Overview:

A magical first step into the world of dance! In this playful and imaginative class, young dancers explore movement, rhythm, and musicality through storytelling and pretend play. We build coordination, confidence, and classroom skills—all while having fun. A great foundation for those who may wish to pursue formal ballet exams in the future.

Course Content:

Pre-Ballet classes focus on introducing students to the basic principles of ballet in a playful and nurturing environment. Children will learn fundamental ballet steps such as pliés, tendus, and sautés through games and songs. Classes incorporate rhythm exercises, imaginative storytelling, creative movement, and props to keep young dancers engaged and inspired. Children are introduced to the structure of a dance class—starting with warm-ups, traveling steps across the floor, and ending with simple choreography. The curriculum supports motor skill development, spatial awareness, musical responsiveness, and classroom skills such as listening and following instructions. Emphasis is placed on enjoyment, participation, and self-expression, while laying the groundwork for future progression into formal ballet training.

Learning Outcomes:

Ballet can help to develop children’s psychomotor skills and benefit from the following:

• Recognise and perform basic ballet positions and movements
• Develop coordination, balance, and musical timing
• Improve body awareness and motor skills
• Follow class structure and develop listening skills
• Express creativity through dance and storytelling

Teaching Method:

We use a play-based approach with structured repetition, props, and imaginative themes to engage young learners. Positive reinforcement builds confidence and classroom readiness while instilling a love for movement.

Prerequisites:

No prior experience needed — just a love for movement, music, and having fun!

Assessment Methods:

It is a fun-based learning technique class, all while receiving friendly, encouraging feedback from their teachers to help them grow and sparkle!

We always encourage the children to get the exciting chance to shine in our year-end performance. When the children are ready, the instructors will invite them to join the performing class!

Required Material:

Ballet attire: Class uniform and ballet shoes

Important Notes:

• This is a drop-off class where kids get to enjoy their dance time independently, while parents can relax knowing they’re in a safe and happy environment!
• Please note that the child will need to purchase a set of ballet attire, when they enrol. One set of ballet attire cost: $65

Trial Option:

A paid trial ($28) is available for first-time student
