Overview

Our Foundation Programme for Toddlers is specially designed for little ones taking their very first steps into structured learning. In this joyful and nurturing programme, children are introduced to Taekwondo through play-based movement, simple routines, and interactive activities. We focus on building coordination, listening skills, confidence, and social awareness - all while having lots of fun! At this age, it's not about perfection. It's about participation, courage, and building healthy habits from young.

Course Content

Your child will be gently introduced to:

  • Simple kicking and punching movements
  • Basic balance and coordination drills
  • Listening and responding to simple instructions
  • Introductory forms (very short patterns designed for young learners)
  • Fun board tapping (soft, safe introduction to board breaking concepts)

Lessons are short, energetic, and age-appropriate - with plenty of encouragement and celebration.

Learning Outcomes / Benefits

Your child will develop:

  • Basic Techniques - Introduction to simple Taekwondo kicks, punches and blocks in a safe and playful manner.
  • Physical Fitness - Improved balance, flexibility, coordination and body awareness.
  • Self-Discipline - Learning to wait for their turn, follow instructions, and show respect to coaches and peers.
  • Confidence Building - Standing independently, responding loudly and clearly, and trying new movements bravely.

Prerequisites

None. This programme is specially designed for beginners.

Assessment Methods

At this stage, progression is gentle and encouraging.

Children will be guided and assessed through:

  • Forms (Poomsae) - Performing short, simple movement sequences that demonstrate balance and coordination.
  • Basic Techniques - Showing correct posture and basic execution of kicks and punches.
  • Combination Movements - Putting together two simple movements confidently.

For formal belt grading, separate grading fees apply. Coaches will inform parents when your child is ready. Grading opportunities are offered regularly throughout the year, and we only recommend children who are confident and ready.
