Introduction to Design & Architecture - Term 4

Course Overview: 

Introduce children to architecture basics and design principles through hands-on make and build activities. This 8-week programme explores fundamentals of form, function, materials, and architectural representation through sketching and model making. Led by architects and designers, the programme aims to nurture creative expression in a structured, inspiring setting.

Course Content:

Week 10 (24 Sep): Build a Lantern

Week 11 (1 Oct): Modules in Design

Week 12 (8 Oct): Design Chair Series

Week 13 (15 Oct): Design an Airborne Vessel

Week 14 (22 Oct): Build a Wearable Roof

Week 15 (29 Oct): Portfolio Compilation

Week 16 (5 Nov): Sharing + Exhibition of Works

Learning Outcomes: 

The 2-hour weekly classes help to reinforce creative concepts and skills learnt and to build awareness of how good designs enhance our lives in our built environment. In our weekly themed classes, students will be immersed in their creative making, testing and experimenting with new ideas.

Teaching Methods:

DesignTinkers programmes are specially curated and led by instructors who are educators, architects and designers with the passion and experience of working with young children to nurture their creative interests. Children will be able to explore freely under guidance.

No prerequisites needed

Assessment Methods:

No assessments will be done

Required Materials: 

Bring a water bottle and a light jacket

Important Notes: 

• Paid Trial Lesson ($75) is available once for new students
• No class on Public Holidays
