[LCentral Experience Day Series] Public Speaking Parent - Child Experience Workshop

Overview:

The Experience Day will feature our refreshed Public Speaking core module, including the Show & Spark segment where students present a favourite item, interactive speaking activities, and opportunities for parents to observe and engage. The aim is to give potential students and parents a first-hand taste of the updated programme while building excitement for the upcoming term enrolments.

Workshop Content:

• Show & Tell Spotlight

Children bring along (or choose on the spot) something they love and share it with the group. Trainers will use the 5Ws & 1H method (Who, What, When, Where, Why, How) to prompt and guide the child’s storytelling.

Goal: Build confidence in self-expression while learning to communicate clearly and with curiosity.

• Mic & Me Moment

Each child–parent pair gets a turn with the mic.

The trainer sets up a fun, everyday scenario (e.g., child wants a toy from a shop, but the parent feels they already have enough).

Parent and child role-play the conversation, practicing persuasion, active listening, and creative thinking.

Goal: Strengthen speaking skills while deepening parent–child connection through playful dialogue.

• Parent Q&A

An open, interactive segment where trainers answer parents’ questions about communication skills, confidence-building, or supporting children at home.

If parents are shy, trainers will initiate with common FAQs to get the discussion flowing.

Goal: Equip parents with practical insights while keeping the session supportive and collaborative.

Prerequisites:

P1 - P4 Students in 2025

The workshop fee is for 1 parent-child pair.
