Overview
Our Mandarin Immersion Programme for toddlers aged 3 and 4 is thoughtfully designed to build a joyful foundation in Mandarin Chinese, creating comfort and confidence in daily communication. Through engaging, play-based activities, young learners will develop a connection to Chinese language and culture. In a small, nurturing group setting, each child receives personalized support to explore Mandarin at their own pace, making language learning a fun and positive experience.
Course Content
Our curriculum is specially crafted for toddlers to help them naturally acquire essential Mandarin skills through play, songs, and storytelling. Each session focuses on interactive language practice that fosters comfort and familiarity with Mandarin. Activities are structured to ensure that children find Mandarin accessible and enjoyable, promoting practical use of the language in everyday conversations.
With a focus on social interaction, our small class size supports children’s learning through individual attention and gentle guidance. By fostering a relaxed and friendly environment, children are encouraged to express themselves and engage confidently in Mandarin.
Learning Outcomes
1. Speaking and Listening: Children will develop the basics of pronunciation and listening comprehension through exposure to native Mandarin speakers. By actively responding in Mandarin, they build comfort with conversational skills.
2. Basic Vocabulary and Phrases: Through daily topics and simple conversations, children will learn essential vocabulary and phrases related to common themes, helping them engage in basic communication.
3. Cultural Familiarity: Simple stories, songs, and crafts introduce children to Chinese culture, sparking curiosity and appreciation for the language's rich heritage.
Teaching Methods
1. Songs and Rhymes: Mandarin songs and rhymes help children connect with the rhythm of the language while building vocabulary.
2. Interactive Games: Games are designed to make language learning engaging and playful, allowing children to pick up new words, sentence structures, and simple phrases through interaction.
3. Storytelling: Captivating stories introduce vocabulary and expressions in a meaningful context. Traditional Chinese tales and picture books help children associate language with familiar scenarios.
4. Crafts: Through hands-on crafts, children learn to recognize simple characters and symbols, deepening their connection to the language and culture.
5. Show and Tell: Show and Tell sessions allow children to express themselves, building confidence in using Mandarin and developing communication skills in a supportive group.
Prerequisites
No prior knowledge of Mandarin is needed.
Assessment Methods
Each session includes informal assessments to gauge children’s progress. Activities are structured for gentle encouragement, ensuring that children build confidence in their skills.
Required Materials
Parents are asked to provide a water bottle and basic stationery. The teacher will supply all lesson materials.
Important Notes
For any classes falling on a Public Holiday, make-up lessons will be arranged within the same week. Classes start every Monday.
