Minecraft City of Heroes

Course Overview: 

Dive into the immersive world of Minecraft game development in this hands-on course designed for budding coders! In one of our most popular camps, kids can now look at the depths of the game: They can learn about the endless possibilities offered by the redstone and build mechanical structures that can be controlled using virtual compound circuits. All this knowledge can then be used to build a futuristic city and the headquarters of their favourite superheroes within it. The limit is their imagination!

With Minecraft, students can develop their logical and algorithmic thinking skills by building structures and designs within the game. The course also helps kids develop their creativity, as they will be the creators and designers of the future city of their favourite superheroes!

Course Content: 

This concise workshop equips participants with essential tools and techniques to craft intricate game worlds. Master camera navigation using QE keys, and mouse controls. Familiarise yourself with core functionalities like selecting, moving, scaling, and rotating objects. Navigate the toolbox effortlessly, sourcing models, scripts, plugins, and more. Learn the art of anchoring objects for gameplay stability, and creatively add unique elements for detailed model creation. By the workshop's conclusion, you'll be adept at shaping diverse terrains, from lush forests to intricate caves.

Learning Outcomes: 

During the camp, kids will be able to:

• Get familiar with Minecraft, how is the game structured and how it works
• Get familiar with the logic gates, redstones, and various Minecraft functions
• Design and construct the future city of their superheroes

Teaching Methods:

Everyone can learn programming and digital literacy. Our curriculum contains fully gamified, modular, and smart lessons to make learning FUN. We believe in the methodology of 'Learning by Doing'. In our lessons, theory and practice are hand in hand – research show that doing the projects while learning the theory results in long term results and good foundation for overall success

Kids do not need any previous training or knowledge to complete this camp.

• The camp requires a valid Minecraft subscription (PC/Mac). You will need it only if your child would like to play/create in their own time after camp.
• The teachers will provide access for students who need an account only for the duration of the camp.
• If you don't have one, you can purchase it here: https://minecraft.net/en/store/minecraft, but do note that Android/XBOX/PS4 licenses are NOT acceptable for this camp.
