Course Overview: 

Our programme is specifically designed to provide young learners with a strong foundation in Mandarin Chinese, focusing on essential language skills and daily communication. In our small group setting, each student receives personalised attention, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Course Content: 

Our curriculum aligns with the Ministry of Education (MOE) syllabus, ensuring that students receive the necessary knowledge and skills required for their academic journey. We follow MOE guidelines and incorporate materials that complement their school learning.

Learning Outcomes: 

Understanding Han Yu Pin Yin: Students will learn how to pronounce Mandarin accurately by using Pin Yin. This system helps students master the correct pronunciation of characters. Additionally, they will engage in oral practices to enhance communication skills.

Daily Conversation & Basic Chinese Characters: Our class focuses on practical communication skills, teaching students how to engage in daily conversations confidently. The children will also have a lot of exposure to Chinese literature components (唐诗,成语和谚语). We use age-appropriate storybooks to encourage reading comprehension and foster a love for Chinese literature.

Build a strong foundation on reading, listening, writing, speaking (读写听说): Our comprehensive approach addresses all essential language skills. Students will listen to native speakers, practice listening comprehension, and respond to questions in Mandarin. They will read aloud to improve pronunciation and fluency while understanding the meaning of the text.

Teaching Methods:

We understand the importance of learning fundamental Chinese characters. Curated from the MOE syllabus, our curriculum introduces primary students to commonly used Chinese characters in their daily lives. Through interactive activities, flashcards, and writing practice, students will develop their reading and writing skills.

No prerequisites needed

Assessment Methods:

We will have weekly oral, listening and writing quizzes for each student

Required Materials: 

• Water bottle and stationery
• Han Tang will provide lesson materials. The child has to bring their lesson material every lesson.
• A $24 material fee is applicable each term, regardless of whether the child joins at the start or mid-term.

Important Notes:

If the lesson falls on a Public Holiday, a make-up lesson shall be arranged within the same week (Monday being the first day of the week).
