P1 - P2 Smart Science

Course Overview: 

P1-P2 Smart Science is developed to introduce the multidisciplinary world of Science to young budding scientists. This multidimensional enrichment programme focuses on nurturing these young minds with a passion for science while equipping them with the fundamentals of Science through a series of thematic experiments who are curious about how and why the world works in certain ways. This programme aims to arouse your child’s interest in Science and to equip them with the fundamentals of Science through a series of thematic experiments.

Course Content: 

Lessons (75 minutes) are conducted in a vibrant learning environment, with a large array of apparatus and equipment so that students can engage in a multi-sensory learning experience. Through hands-on activities, students would be encouraged to ask questions and formulate their own ideas and develop scientific thought.

Learning Outcomes: 

Experiments form the bulk of each class, that help to facilitate a better understanding and internalisation of concepts taught. Students would also be tasked to complete handouts for scientific processes. By developing your child’s metacognitive thinking skills, they would be able to become problem solvers, helping them grasp scientific concepts faster in the later years.

Our Smart Science lessons are sure to ignite and fuel the curiosity of children with cool rocket-making and launching self-made rockets to learn about force propulsion and Newton's third law of motion!

Teaching Methods:

Lessons are conducted based on the 'Hands On, Minds On' approach taught by our team of experienced teachers. Children have meaningful and interactive lessons to get to know things around them and understand real-world phenomenons.

The "Hands-On, Minds-On" teaching approach creates a dynamic and enriching learning environment. It empowers students to become active learners, fostering curiosity and a genuine passion for exploring subjects deeply. Integrating tactile experiences with cognitive challenges can facilitate a well-rounded and impactful educational journey.

Required Materials: 

Water bottle, Personal Labcoat from Smart Science Lab

Important Notes: 

Teachers will have a 5-minute sharing session with the parents at the end of every lesson. Do kindly spare 5 minutes after lessons to gain a better understanding of your child's learning progress.
