Description

Course Overview

Join us for a joyful and imaginative Parent & Child craft session where creativity blooms, literally! In this hands-on workshop, each pair will design and build their very own mini TreeHouse on a live potted plant, blending nature, storytelling, and craftsmanship into one unforgettable experience.

Course Content

In this engaging workshop, parent–child pairs will begin by planning and sketching a TreeHouse concept together. Using eco-friendly materials and guided building techniques, they will then bring their design to life — adding ladders, windows, swings and personalised touches. Along the way, participants will learn model-making basics, explore creative ideas, and enjoy the collaborative process of building something meaningful together that reflects their unique story and imagination.

Learning Outcomes

  • Guided by skilled instructors, parents and children will begin by sketching their TreeHouse designs, then learn how to transform these 2D drawings into intricate 3D prototypes.
  • Through hands-on activities, participants will develop fundamental model-making skills, mastering techniques such as measuring, cutting, and assembling to bring their vision to life.
  • Along the way, they will discover the importance of reinforcing structures to ensure safety and stability.

Teaching Methods

Both parents and children will be introduced to various examples of building TreeHouses around the world with an understanding of the design intent and consideration to inspire their very own TreeHouse design. Every student's design is different and cross-learning is promoted in an open studio learning environment.
