Course Overview: 

This is a specialised holiday workshop created to assist students in improving their public speaking skills, to become better at speaking in front of others, whether it's for school presentations, exams, or talking about important topics. You'll learn how to organise your thoughts, speak confidently, and think fast when you need to.


Learning Objectives:

Confidence Building: Enhance self-confidence in public speaking by encouraging kids to express themselves clearly and confidently in front of an audience.


Introducing Effective Communication Skills: Introducing communication skills, including articulation, tone, and body language, to convey ideas and messages effectively.


Organisational Skills: Develop the ability to organise and structure thoughts and information logically when preparing and delivering speeches.


Audience Engagement: Learn techniques to engage and captivate an audience, including eye contact, gestures, and storytelling.


Overcoming Fear and Nervousness: Provide strategies and tools for managing anxiety and overcoming the fear of public speaking, making it a more enjoyable and less intimidating experience.

Learning Outcomes: 

Confident Communication: By the end of the camp, children will demonstrate increased self-confidence and comfort in speaking in front of an audience, and delivering speeches with reduced anxiety.

Empowered Self-Expression: After the camp, children will have developed the ability to express their ideas and messages clearly and persuasively, fostering a sense of empowerment in their communication abilities.



Teaching Methods:

Classes will be conducted through coaching, and facilitation to encourage group discussions and dialogue. Students would be encouraged to express and communicate their thoughts and ideas.




Prerequisites:

Note that children will be clustered according to age groups. No prior experience in public speaking is required.




Assessment Methods:

Coaches will guide students in practising public speaking and improving their communication skills, helping them express themselves effectively.




Required Materials: 

Worksheets will be provided, students will need to bring their writing materials.
