Course Overview:
This course aims to deepen students' understanding of mathematical concepts, emphasizing problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Through engaging lessons, students will explore various topics that form the foundation for higher mathematics.
Course Objective:
- To enhance mathematical proficiency and confidence.
- To develop logical reasoning and analytical skills.
- To apply mathematical concepts to real-world situations.
Topics Covered:
- Algebra: Simplifying expressions, solving equations, and inequalities, simultaneous equations
- Functions: Linear functions and graphs, quadratic functions and graphs
- Geometry: Properties of shapes, congruence, and symmetry.
- Trigo: Pythagoras Theorem, Trigonometry Ratios
- Arithmetics: Indices and standard forms, Scales and Maps
- Statistics: Sets and Venn Diagrams, Probability
Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate Proficiency in Algebra
- Perform geometrical construction, proofing and recognising congruency and similarity
- Analyze Data and Statistics
- Develop exam-ready skills
Teaching Methods:
Lessons are conducted through interactive approaches and discussions allowing students to gain exposure ahead of their peers and be curious about the things and phenomena around them.
Exam-answering techniques are taught and emphasised to help students improve their grades during examinations.
