Description
Course Overview:
The Crafty Kidz camp is perfect for children who love to create, design, and explore their imagination. Packed with fun, hands-on art and craft activities, this programme allows kids to experiment with a wide range of materials while expressing themselves in unique and colourful ways. From painting and sculpture to collage and DIY projects, every day offers new opportunities to craft and create. The objective is to nurture creativity and confidence while building fine motor skills and encouraging collaboration through shared projects.
Course Content:
Children will explore art and design through a variety of creative projects that let them work with different textures, colours, and techniques. Activities include painting with mixed media, clay and sculpture work, collage and paper crafts, and themed DIY projects such as jewellery, puppets, or decorative items. Each project is designed to give children the freedom to make choices, problem-solve creatively, and produce their own unique work.
Class Structure & Schedule:
Morning Session (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM): Guided art project (painting, clay, or collage) + short snack break at 10:30 AM.
Lunch (12:00 - 12:30 PM).
Afternoon Session (12:30 - 2:00 PM): Larger themed craft project (DIY build, collaborative mural, or mixed-media design) + group sharing and reflection.
Each day balances individual projects (to build independence) and collaborative work (to encourage teamwork and inspiration from peers).
Learning Outcome:
- Explore art techniques including painting, collage, sculpture, and mixed media.
- Experiment with colours, textures, and materials to express ideas visually.
- Develop confidence in sharing and presenting creative work.
- Knowledge: Understanding of basic art concepts such as colour mixing, balance, and design.
- Skills: Fine motor development, problem-solving, imaginative thinking, and collaboration.
- Abilities: Ability to plan, create, and refine personal projects while appreciating the creativity of others.
Teaching Method:
Crafty Kidz is taught through hands-on, experiential learning. Each session begins with a short demonstration or inspiration example, followed by children immediately diving into their own projects.
Facilitators provide guidance and encouragement rather than step-by-step instructions, giving children the freedom to explore their own ideas. Group work is encouraged through collaborative art pieces or shared craft themes, while individual projects allow for self-expression and independence.
Reflection and sharing are included at the end of sessions, where children showcase their creations, explain their choices, and appreciate the work of their peers. This approach makes the camp creative, supportive, and confidence-building.
