ATS - Pokemon: Gotta Catch 'Em All

Course Overview:

Calling all aspiring Pokémon Trainers! Get ready to embark on an exciting 2-hour adventure where science meets Pokémon! This workshop will transform you into a Pokémon trainer, learning the secrets of the Pokémon world through fun and interactive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) hands-on activities. Learn about different science concepts and design tools needed to become a master trainer! Discover how Pokémon are inspired by the characteristics of real-life animals, and create the perfect habitat for your Pokémon! Join us as we combine learning and fun together!

Course content:

During this 2-hour workshop, Pokémon trainers will complete and bring home the following projects in (*):

• Pokémon Classification Card Activity: Sort and categorise Pokémon based on their characteristics to understand connections with real-life animals. - Design Your Pokéball: Design your very own Pokéballs, choosing from a variety of options to create the perfect catching tool!
• Build a Pokéball Launcher: Put your engineering skills to the test as you construct a launching device to launch your Pokéball towards your target!
• *Create a 3D Pokéball Biome: Explore the fascinating world of Pokémon habitats! Create an environment that replicates the ideal home for your Pokémon.

Learning outcomes:

During this 2-hour workshop, children will learn about different science concepts and complete projects. Topics covered:

1. A. Categorisation of living and non-living things
2. B. Habitats and examples of habitats
3. C. Lever and forces in a catapult

Teaching methods:

Experiential Learning: Students will be acquiring knowledge through firsthand experiences and engaging in practical, hands-on activities.

No assessments will be done

Required materials:

• Stationery and a Water bottle
• Please wear a school uniform or PE T-shirt

Important notes:

There will be a 15-minute short break during the workshop for children to take a rest
