Description
Project 1 - Batik Dye
Batik is a traditional art-form which involves using wax and dye to create beautiful and intricate patterns on cloth. This workshop integrates experimentation and purposeful play, while learning how wax resist techniques work on fabric surfaces. Get your children to experience fabric dying and creating their own designs with hot wax of different colours, discovering how tradition forms of art can be full of fun here at Agora!
Project 2 - String Art
String art is one of the most aesthetic new fads of DIY projects, originating from the 19th century. Often referred to as pin-and-thread art, string art is an addicting art form for children as it uses unconventional materials to spark creativity. During this camp, children will create intricate designs using floss with criss-cross and wrapping techniques around nails to fill in blank spaces. Children will watch their seemingly complex creation turn a plank of wood into a work of art filled with colours and various patterns.
