Danspirations - Pre-Ballet 2

Course Overview:

A joyful transition into more structured ballet learning. Pre-Ballet 2 builds on the foundations of Pre-Ballet while introducing dancers to clearer technique, musical awareness, and performance skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Classes remain engaging and imaginative, while gently preparing students for formal ballet training and examinations.

Course Content:

Pre-Ballet 2 classes introduce students to basic classical ballet technique through age-appropriate exercises, music, and storytelling. Dancers learn fundamental movements such as pliés, tendus, skips, balances, and simple jumps, both at the barre and in the centre.

Learning Outcomes:

Ballet can help to develop children’s psychomotor skills and benefit from the following:

• Recognise and perform basic ballet positions and movements
• Develop coordination, balance, and musical timing
• Improve body awareness and motor skills
• Follow class structure and develop listening skills
• Express creativity through dance and storytelling

Teaching Methods:

We blend formal ballet instruction with creative tasks and encouraging feedback. Movement is taught progressively with visuals and verbal cues. Lessons are designed to build confidence and enjoyment while introducing classical ballet technique.

Prerequisites:

No prior experience needed — just a love for movement, music, and having fun!

Assessment Methods:

Students get the exciting chance to shine in our year-end performance and can choose to take Royal Academy of Dance exams if they want — all while receiving friendly, encouraging feedback from their teachers to help them grow and sparkle!

Required Material:

Ballet attire: Class uniform and ballet shoes

Important Notes:

• This is a drop-off class where kids get to enjoy their dance time independently, while parents can relax knowing they're in a safe and happy environment!
• Please note that the child will need to purchase a set of ballet attire, when they enrol.
