Description

Course Overview:

Join us In this 6-hour hands-on digital workshop, where children will learn how Artificial Intelligence (AI) works by building and training their own AI projects. Using age appropriate tools like Google Teachable Machine and Scratch, students will explore how AI sees, recognises patterns, and responds to actions. Through guided activities, children will train AI models, test how accurate they are, and create interactive games controlled by their own movements. This workshop focuses on understanding AI in a clear and practical way while encouraging creativity and logical thinking.

Course Content:

During this 6-hour workshop, students will complete the following projects :

  • My First AI Vision Model: Learn how computers "see" by training an AI model to tell the difference between two images (e.g. cats vs dogs). Collect data, train the model, and test how accurate it is.
  • My AI Action Detector: Train AI to recognise simple actions using short video recordings (such as pointing left or right). Learn how AI detects movement and patterns.
  • My Scratch AI Game: Connect the trained AI model to Scratch and create a simple game where gestures control the characters (wave to jump, point to move, smile to score).

Learning Outcome:

By the end of this workshop, children will:

  • Understand how AI collects data and learns from examples
  • Learn how AI recognises images and actions
  • See how AI decisions depend on data quality
  • Use AI models to control games and animations
  • Build confidence in using and understanding AI

Teaching Method:

Project-Based Learning (PBL):Students will be participating in creative and practical projects where they apply the knowledge they've acquired
