P1 - P2 Nurturing Science

Course Overview:

The P1-P2 Nurturing Science Programme supports young learners during the period where formal science is not yet introduced in schools. Designed to keep curiosity alive beyond kindergarten, this 45-minute programme offers hands-on discovery in every session. Children explore basic science concepts through meaningful, age-appropriate experiments that build confidence and prepare them for future primary science learning.

Course Content:

Students will explore a series of beginner science themes through experiment-based lessons, including:

• Chemistry - Chromatography

Learn what chromatography is and observe colours separating in ink.

• Biology - Human System

Discover how the human body works through simple demonstrations.

• Physics - Gravity

Understand the force of gravity via guided, interactive activities.

• Art Science - Colours & Light

Create rainbows and explore basic light behaviour.

Each topic is intentionally designed to introduce early scientific thinking in a fun, accessible way.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the programme, students will:

• Build a strong foundation before formal science begins in upper primary
• Strengthen curiosity, inquiry habits, and observation skills
• Develop simple critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Gain confidence in trying, testing, and sharing their discoveries
• Cultivate an early love for science and hands-on learning

Teaching Method:

• Hands-on every lesson: each session features a practical experiment Short, clear, and engaging delivery tailored for P1-P2 attention spans
• Guided discovery where instructors explain concepts through real examples
• Active participation with opportunities to touch, test, and observe

Prerequisites:

• Suitable for Primary 1 and Primary 2 students
• No prior science experience needed
• Students should be able to follow simple instructions in a group setting

Free Trial Lesson available once for 1st timers.

Important Notes:

• Scheduled is published on a semester basis.
• The course fee is $40 per lesson.
