P3 Readiness Coaching Programme for English

A calm, confident start to Primary 3 English.

Overview

Primary 3 English brings a step up. Passages get longer, questions need fuller answers, and children are expected to work more on their own. This 4-week coaching programme helps your child close small gaps now, so the new year feels like a fresh start, not a struggle.

In small groups, our teachers look at where each child is unsure. They then work through it together, step by step. Your child practises how to read a question, plan an answer and check their work. By the last session, the goal is simple: your child tries the question on their own first.

Who it's for

• Primary 2 children moving up to Primary 3 in 2027
• Children who would like extra support after their recent practice tests
• Children who are doing fine but want to feel more confident before P3
• Current students recommended by their teachers will be given priority for seats.

Class format

• 4 sessions, 1 hour each, once a week over 4 weeks
• Small group coaching, face-to-face at Agora. Maximum 8 students.
• Each session: a short review, guided practice, then independent practice with teacher feedback

What will be covered

• Grammar: tenses, subject and verb agreement, prepositions and joining words
• Vocabulary: choosing the right word from the sentence around it
• Editing: spotting and correcting spelling and grammar mistakes
• Comprehension: reading longer passages and answering in full sentences
• Writing: planning and writing a short story from a picture series
• Answering techniques: reading the question carefully, finding key words and checking answers
