OVERVIEW

P3 and P4 bring new challenges in Chinese. In P3, many children sit their first formal school exams. They also write their first compositions, and some do not know where to start. In P4, comprehension marks can slip, and compositions need more length and detail. In this one-hour talk, Ma Laoshi, Founder and Principal of Han Tang Learning Hub, shares what to focus on in each year. She also gives practical ways to help your child at home. You leave with a clear picture and a few simple things to try.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Ma Laoshi is the Founder and Principal of Han Tang Learning Hub. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language from Beijing Normal University. She also holds a Master's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Northwest University in Xi'an. She was an Associate Researcher at the City University of Hong Kong. In 2011, she moved to Singapore and became an MOE-registered Chinese teacher. She has 16 years of experience teaching Chinese, including in local primary and secondary schools. Her articles on education have appeared in Lianhe Zaobao and China Education Daily.

讲师介绍

马老师是新加坡汉唐学院创办人兼校长。她毕业于北京师范大学中文系，并持有西安西北大学新闻与传播学硕士学位。她曾任香港城市大学副研究员。2011年移居新加坡，成为教育部注册华文教师。她拥有16年华文教学经验，曾在本地中小学任教。她的教育文章曾刊登于《联合早报》和《中国教师报》。
