Be an Author: A Dragon's Tale (Primary 3 & 4)

Course Overview

Take your child’s writing to the next level in this engaging holiday programme, ‘Be an Author’! Designed for P3 & P4 students, this camp guides young writers through structured storytelling, creative expression, and the fantasy genre, culminating in the creation of their own polished story.

Course Content

• Understanding the 5 aspects of narrative plot structure and applying them in writing
• Learning and mastering 3 effective writing techniques to improve style and clarity
• Analysing popular fantasy books and movies to enhance storytelling skills
• Exploring the elements of the fantasy genre to make stories engaging and imaginative
• Practical story planning, writing, and presentation exercises
• Model story analysis to identify and emulate effective writing strategies

Learning Outcome

• Produce a well-structured, imaginative story of their own creation
• Apply narrative plot structure and writing techniques confidently
• Gain deeper understanding of what makes a story engaging and compelling
• Analyse and learn from examples of successful fantasy storytelling
• Develop skills in story planning, writing, and presentation
