How the hour works

Our teachers lead. You play alongside your child.

Parents, a grandmother and their babies lift a rainbow parachute together while a toddler peeks out from underneath and the facilitator leads the song.
The guided hour. Our facilitators and teachers lead. Every grown-up plays.
  • Up to ten children, led by our facilitators and teachers. You join in.
  • Grown-ups stay for the whole hour, whoever they are: dads, grandparents and helpers come every week.
  • Every session includes free exploration time.

Four classes

Stories, movement, art or building. Pick the class that sounds like your child.

Each class runs mixed-age, so a crawler and a two-year-old share the room on purpose.

A toddler crawls out of a soft tunnel on the turf, grinning.

Mini Movers: a movement class

For the ones who never sit still.

Movement for every stage, from tummy time to toddlers who are up and running.

  • Strength

Build & Bond: sensory and building play

For families who want the shared hour.

Sensory bins and blocks to grasp and stack, then bigger builds as the ideas grow.

  • Problem-solving
  • Teamwork
  • Focus

Art Explorers: a messy art class

For the ones who touch everything.

Taste-safe playdough and finger paint for the youngest, then themed projects once the hands are ready.

For the ones who light up at a story.

Stories, rhymes and puppets for the babies. Role-play, movement and acting out stories for the older ones.

Weekend Wonders · Take-home note

Class:Mini Movers

Try this week:

Place toys just out of reach to practise stretching and core strength.

From your facilitator

We hand you a written note with one thing to try before the next class. You won't need to buy anything.

Progress you can see

Your facilitator watches for ten things across the term and tells you what they saw, in plain language. Your child earns Bronze, Silver and Gold badges, with a certificate at the end of each ten-session pack. Measured against last week, never against the child sitting next to them.

A facilitator sits with two toddlers sorting soft rings into a box.

How the classes are planned

Each class builds on the last one.

All four classes were written by our Head of Early Years, so each week picks up where the last left off. A facilitator runs every session from that plan. You leave with one small thing to try at home.

Questions

The things parents ask before the first class.

Do you have weekend classes for babies and toddlers?

Yes. Weekend Wonders runs on weekend mornings at 456 Alexandra Road, beside ARC, for babies and toddlers up to 3. There are two sittings, 9 to 10am and 10.30 to 11.30am. Every session includes free exploration time.

Is the first class free?

Yes. Your first class is free: one full hour, the real class, with you beside your child. After that, sessions come in a ten-session pack that you use within six months.

Does a parent have to stay? How many children are in a class?

Grown-ups stay for the whole hour, whoever they are: dads, grandparents and helpers come every week. Each class has up to ten children, led by our facilitators and teachers.

My child is shy and might just watch. Is that OK?

Yes, that's normal. Some children join in from the first minute. Some watch for a few weeks first. We never ask a child to perform.

What if my baby needs a feed or a change halfway?

Then feed or change them. Step out, come back, nobody minds. Bring comfy clothes that can get messy, socks and a water bottle. We have the rest, including taste-safe playdough.

What if we miss some weekends?

Packs stay valid for six months. You don't have to come every week. Away for three weeks? Pick it up when you're back.

"We appreciated the flexibility of the programme as other schools are usually unaccompanied or did not give us the option to enter the premises."
