Jurassic Explorers

Course Overview:

Calling all young explorers! Step into the fascinating world of dinosaurs and discover what life on Earth was like millions of years ago. In this exciting 3-hour workshop, children will explore how dinosaurs lived, what they ate, and the environments they thrived in.

Through hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities, they will build dinosaur habitats, investigate fossils, and uncover the mystery behind dinosaur extinction. From erupting volcanoes to fossil discoveries, join us for a fun and interactive journey into the prehistoric world!

Course Content:

During this 3-hour workshop, our young explorers will complete and explore the following activities:

• Build a Dinosaur Habitat: Create a prehistoric environment using air clay and assemble a 3D dinosaur model while learning about what dinosaurs need to survive

• Create Your Own Dinosaur Model: Use observation and creativity to reconstruct and sculpt a dinosaur based on its skeleton

• Experiment with a Volcano Eruption: Create a volcano model and simulate an eruption to explore possible causes of dinosaur extinction

Learning Outcome:

During this workshop, children will learn about prehistoric life and apply their understanding through hands-on projects. Topics covered:

• Dinosaur Habitats and Diets: Understanding how dinosaurs lived and what they needed to survive

• Extinction: Exploring possible reasons why dinosaurs disappeared, including natural events like volcanic activity

• Fossils and Evidence: Learning how fossils are formed and how scientists use them to study the past

• Scientific Thinking and Creativity: Using observation and imagination to reconstruct dinosaurs from skeletal structures
