Science of Music

Course Overview:

Introducing one of our thematic STEAM workshops that combines learning and fun together! Children will learn about different science concepts and reinforce their knowledge with fun and interactive STEAM activities. This workshop is designed to engage children in a fun and educational exploration of the science of music through various STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities. 

Course content:

Children will explore the basic physics of sound, musical instruments and even how people respond when they hear music! They will complete and bring home the following projects during the 3 hour workshop:

• A DIY Musical Box
• Design and Build a Kalimba

Learning outcomes:

During this 3 hours workshop, children will learn about different science concepts and complete projects.

Topics covered:

1. What are sounds and how they travel
2. Instruments can make different sounds and music!
3. Understand how a Kalimba works and simple notes

Teaching methods:

Experiential Learning: Students will be acquiring knowledge through firsthand experiences and engaging in practical, hands-on activities.

Assessment methods:

No assessments will be done

Required materials:

Stationery and Water bottle

Important notes:

There will be a 15-minute short break during the workshop for children to take a rest
